Bayer, the parent company of Roundup Weed Killer, announced that it will pay more than $10 billion to people sickened by exposure to Roundup. Thousands of people filed lawsuits against Bayer and previously against Monsanto, which is the creator and manufacturer of Roundup.

Parent companies and manufacturers of defective products can be held accountable for injuries and deaths caused by their products. They have a responsibility to keep consumers safe from carcinogens and other dangerous chemicals. When they fail in their duty to protect consumers, they may be ordered to pay out considerable compensation to victims and their families.
